What is it? The Invisalign Teen™ system straightens your teeth with a series of custom-made clear aligners, which are comfortable and practically invisible. It was developed with leading orthodontists. And it works – nearly one million patients worldwide have made Invisalign their clear choice.

How is Invisalign Teen different from braces? Well-designed with teens in mind, Invisalign Teen uses the same Invisalign technology as adult aligners, moving teeth gradually with each set of clear, comfortable plastic aligners. But because teens (and their mouths) are constantly on the move, we’ve added a few special features to Invisalign Teen aligners:

• snap on your teeth easily; are comfortable and practically invisible.
• gently and continuously move your teeth in small increments.
• have a Blue Dot Wear Indicator, designed to show an estimation of wear-time. The dot is designed to fade to clear over a two-week period if you wear (20 to 22 hours everyday) your aligners properly.
• can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing, or going to a special event.
• are replaceable if lost. That’s right, you get up to six, free, individual replacements eat what you want.
• easier to play wind instruments.
• less chance of irritated mouth and gums. In fact, you may get healthier gums.
• no “emergency” visits for broken bands or brackets.

How does it work?

Overall, an average treatment takes about a year and is made up of these main steps:

1. Setup an appointment with our office for a consultation about your treatment to find out: is it the right option for you?
2. We will take pictures and impressions of your teeth, and then map out a precise visual plan of your tooth movements, from the beginning to the end of your treatment.
3. Aligners are made to custom-fit your teeth. The number of aligners is different for each person.
4. You wear your aligners about 20 to 22 hours everyday, except to eat, brush, and floss, or go to a special event.
5. About every two weeks, you swap your old aligners for new ones. The aligners will gradually move your teeth into their final prescribed position.
